LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday, announced that Australia's hard hitting batter David Warner has signed up for the highly-anticipated player draft for the league’s 10th edition.

The announcement was made on the league's social media handles with a banner and a caption stating, "ENDING 2024 ON A HIGH. The Aussie powerhouse David Warner has registered for the PSL Draft."

The left-handed batter is regarded as a powerhouse in Australian cricket, especially in the T20 format.

He represented Australia in 110 T20I matches, amassing 3,277 runs at a strike rate of 142.47, including 28 half-centuries and one century.

With extensive experience in franchise leagues, he has played in the Big Bash League (BBL), Indian Premier League (IPL), ILT20, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and more.

The 38-year-old participated in 15 IPL seasons, representing Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In 184 IPL matches, he has scored 6,565 runs, including 64 half-centuries and four centuries.

Under his captaincy, Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched the IPL 2016 title.

Notably, Warner is the 23rd foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft, which will take place in Balochistan for the first time as Gwadar is set to host the landmark event on January 11, 2025.

The pick order for the player draft has also been announced, with two-time champions Lahore Qalandars making the first pick in the opening round of the platinum category, followed by arch-rivals Karachi Kings.

2019 champions Quetta Gladiators will make the third pick, while Peshawar Zalmi will have the fourth.

Last season’s runners-up, Sultans, and reigning champions United will make the fifth and sixth picks, respectively.
